Report on the CERTX Conference in Riyadh

It was with very great pleasure that Oakwood took a stand at this Conference from the 16-18 May in The Kempinski Hotel in Riyadh.

The conference itself was very well attended with over 2,000 attendees, exhibitors and visitors. The theme of CERTX 2017 was on relevant Vocational Qualifications within the work environment. Almost exclusively this took on a “people orientated” focus. So Oakwood was able to advise on our comprehensive raft of CIPD qualifications at Foundation and Intermediate Levels. We were very well-received.

Oakwood was also invited to run a workshop on HR/HRD, Management and Marketing accredited qualifications. Our workshop achieved the highest number of participants. This proved to be a lively session with a great deal of the time discussing Leadership – an everyday and essential topic in The Kingdom, indeed throughout the world. Some controversial interventions led to varied views and no real outcome. However the Workshop Seminar did consider that Management was at least as important as Leadership. Not everyone agreed!

This was a great Conference and Oakwood was able to see and meet a number of existing and new clients – as well as start to form new relationships with businesses and organisations in The Kingdom. There are significant opportunities – which present equally important challenges – to be resolved in the region. The “Vision 2030” paper sets these out clearly. Oakwood stands ready to help in any way possible. It would be our privilege and honour to assist the people and businesses in Saudi Arabia achieve their full potential.

To those who attended our seminar, a very big thanks. To those who visited our stand, I hope we were able to help in some way.
