Janine Bunning - Managing Director
Janine has spent a lifetime working in HRM, HRD and Management Consultancy. Janine is a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD, a Fellow of the ILM, and a founding director of Oakwood International. Janine has held Senior HR positions in the private and public sector prior to establishing Oakwood International in 2001. Her passion for quality and excellence in management practice and in all her business dealings has not diminished over the years, indeed it has probably increased! Janine has built her reputation and the Oakwood team on her strongly-held personal and business core values.
Dennis O’Donnell - Chief Executive Officer
Dennis has a background in business and finance. He has held a variety of senior management positions in industry and possesses a wealth of knowledge in the areas of Management Development and Leadership. He has a Masters from Cambridge University and is a Fellow of The Institute of Leadership and Management. Dennis’ key strengths lie in his ability to get to grips with business challenges quickly, and come up with practical, workable and added-value solutions. He has merged his business acumen with his knowledge and skills in the people arena to offer consultancy and real help to all levels of staff and management alike. He is proud to be a founding director of The Oakwood Team.
Carrie Baghurst - Chief Operating Officer
Carrie joined the team in 2002 having previously worked for several large organisations such as American Express, Lloyds TSB and a commercial broker for Lloyd's of London. Carrie has been a vital part of building the Oakwood success from when the company first started. Since joining Oakwood, Carrie has risen to the challenges of being an integral part of a fast expanding international business.
Fleur Blanford - Head of International Studies
Fleur is the Head of International Studies at Oakwood International. She and her team look after in excess of 1000 students at any one time – ensuring that each and every one receives the support they need in order to achieve success in their chosen route of study. The quality assurance of the qualification suite is her direct responsibility and she safeguards the Oakwood ‘exemplary Centre’ status with the CIPD. Educated to Post Graduate degree level, Fleur is also a qualified NVQ assessor and internal verifier having over ten years’ experience in Further and Higher Education. She brings valuable insight to the needs of International students studying at all levels; many of whom are undertaking their learning in a second language. Fleur holds professional CIPD qualifications, is an Associate Member of the CIPD and a Fellow of the ILM.
Emily Carroll - Chief Business Analyst
Emily is Oakwood International's Chief Business Analyst. She ensures that Oakwood delivers the best possible value, service and quality to our students. Emily previously worked as a Project Manager within the International Development Team at City & Guilds. She managed the development of qualifications to suit international markets across the world. Emily is a Member of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and is a PRINCE2 Practitioner.
Lin Whelan - Financial Controller
Lin heads up the Finance Department within Oakwood. Lin has been a vital member of the Oakwood team since 2003. Before that she spent 23 years as an office and administration manager for a multi-airport booking service and has a career spanning 35 years.
Jackie Bishop - Qualifications Assessor
Before joining Oakwood, Jackie spent 12 years with a college, where she taught Business and Accounts to post-16 students; was an Internal Verifier for NVQ programmes in Retail, Business, Customer Service and Administration; and was Assessor for GNVQ Business programmes. She has spent time as a Personnel Manager in the NHS and was an External Examiner for Edexcel between 2001 and 2005. Jackie brings a wide range of skills and knowledge to her role in the Student Support Team.
Jennifer Thompson - Business Support Executive
Jennifer brings over 25 years’ experience in Student Support and Customer Care to the Oakwood team. Previous roles to date have been gained through working for a University in Higher Education coordinating and mapping Nursing and Midwifery students through their 3 year Clinical Practice Placements. She possesses the ability to successfully network with key stakeholders with great attention to detail. She enjoys creating good positive student pathways and assisting students to ensure they receive the highest level of support.
Vicky Kemsley - Digital Marketing Manager
Vicky Kemsley has over eighteen years’ experience in communications, marketing and training, specialising in email marketing and social media. She is a fully qualified trainer and assessor, having achieved a Postgraduate Certificate in Education in Information and Communication Technologies. We are utilising all of her skills at Oakwood as Vicky is joining The Projects Team as Digital Marketing Manager. Vicky started her career with Sussex Police as a Press and Public Relations Officer before qualifying as a Trainer and Assessor. She went on to become Communications Manager for Easit Network, an organisation promoting sustainable transport behaviours. Most recently Vicky was Senior Trainer at dotmailer, a leading email marketing service provider. She was involved with every stage of the training cycle.
Kerry Lantsbury - Business Support Executive
Kerry joined Oakwood recently with experience in Management, HR and training. Kerry worked for Lloyds TSB Private Banking for 20 years where she was an integral part of the training team with the responsibility of developing and delivering Induction training. Kerry also invigilated and marked Threshold Competency testing for customer facing staff. Kerry was a core member of the HR team having the ability to unlock blind spots, enhancing self awareness using powerful and practical techniques. Kerry's last role was for a mailing and communications company AM&M where she supported the management team in recruitment and administrative duties.
Jane Bradshaw – Qualifications Assessor
Jane has recently joined the Oakwood team and her role is to assess student course work at Oakwood with the Student Support Team. Jane has background in HR and Learning and Development, having worked in the financial services industry for over 30 years with Barclays Bank Plc, Yorkshire Building Society and Just Retirement. Jane has gained extensive Learning and development experience training senior managers, mortgage advisers and latterly managing transformational projects at Just Retirement. Whilst at Just Retirement Jane was responsible for the Induction course for new equity release advisers which included assessing their skills and knowledge. Jane also provided student guidance and coaching to those who wanted to embark on Industry qualifications.
Shelagh Murdoch - Qualifications Assessor
Shelagh is involved in the assessment of student course work at Oakwood International. In addition to this Shelagh also assesses NVQ portfolios and marks CIPD Management Research Reports. Shelagh previously spent fifteen years with the CIPD as Manager of Professional Education, and before that worked for eleven years in HR, the majority within the hotel and catering industry. Shelagh is a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD and has a Masters degree in Managing Human Resources.
