Associate Information:
Bernie is an Associate Consultant at Oakwood International, based in the UK. She is an enthusiastic experienced HR professional with well-honed skills in the development, selection and assessment of leaders, teams and individuals. She has excellent interpersonal, facilitation and coaching skills and is creative in the design and delivery of learning materials. Bernie consistently achieves targets through a determined, organised, pragmatic approach.
Tolerant and open minded, having worked with diverse cultures, she is flexible and practical. Her delivery style is lively, interactive and energetic. She has determination and drive and is passionate about adding real value to clients by exceeding expectations.
Bernie has a BA (Hons) in History and MSc in Training & Development. She is also a Fellow Member of the CIPD, an ILM certified Coach, and a Fellow of the ILM.
Personal and Fun:
Bernie is UK based, living in Brighton on the south coast. She enjoys exercise, playing tennis as often as possible and hiking at home and abroad. She is looking forward to resuming opportunities to travel but using current downtime to volunteer for the NHS and try out her painting skills.
Industry Experience:
Bernie is an experienced management consultant with 25 years’ experience spanning the private, public and not for profit sectors. With an early career in education, she moved across to industry, working in the Financial Services sector in a variety of HR roles – resourcing, employee relations and learning and developing and then on to consultancy for the past decade.
She has worked with a broad spectrum of organisations both in the UK and abroad, designing and delivering training and consultancy assignments in a variety of organisations including legal firms, NHS Trusts, Financial Institutions and the education sector. Current and previous clients include Oxford University NHS Trust, HSBC, Barclays, UNICEF and The Financial Ombudsman’s Service.
Since the advent of the pandemic, Bernie has been delivering online webinars using Zoom, Webex and GotoTraining. She has created a suite of new programmes and converted others to a webinar format.
